The real dilemma faced by Tsar Ivan IV, which consists not in the choice between war with Crimea and a campaign to Livonia, and in the choice between war only with the Crimea and the war on two fronts, both with the Crimea, and from Livonia. Ivan IV chose the latter. The results were devastating.
