Immediately after the discovery of radioactivity in 1890, scientists have suspected that uranium or something similar "fuel" can work in the universe and, in particular, contribute to the combustion of our sun. It is something so powerful and needed because of Darwin's discoveries and geological finds show that the Earth must have existed - and warmed by the Sun - for billions of years. Coal and other usual fuels such high energy could not give. Unfortunately, no signs of the presence of uranium in the Sun, astronomers have not been able to find. Kazhdyyhimichesky element creates a clear visible signal, and an optical device called a spectroscope (for it lays out any interference into its "spectrum"), allows these signals to identify. However, the point the spectroscope at the sun and you will see clearly: either uranium or thorium or other radioactive elements are not there.
